GPU Reservations

Training Coordinators can assign guaranteed GPU resources to specific courses through the GPU reservation feature. This mechanism grants these courses top priority over requested GPU compute hardware, thereby ensuring that the necessary hardware requirements are met for the successful execution of training sessions and labs.

 

The process for creating a GPU reservation for a course is outlined below:

Navigate to the Desktops tab on the course page and select the blue "Reserve GPU" button located beneath the Video conference button.

 

A prompt will then appear to collect the necessary details for your GPU request.

The initial field is for location, which is pre-set to "Anywhere" by default.

If you are aware of the city closest to your participants, you may manually enter it by selecting "Within distance from city".

Should you prefer a broader location coverage, you can select "Others...".

Once you have confirmed the location, click "Continue" to proceed to the "Per desktop" section, where you can define the specific machine requirements.

In this section, specify all resources required per machine to obtain an accurate estimate of the approximate resource costs.

** Please ensure accuracy in this section, as precise details yield a more reliable cost estimation and assist course managers in sourcing resources if none are available in a specific region.

 

If the entered details are satisfactory, click Continue to proceed to the GPU requirements section.

For this part, it is advisable to consult with the trainer to determine the exact needs of the course. Trainers typically have a clear understanding of the specific GPU Vendor and Model required to conduct their sessions. If you or the trainer are uncertain, please leave this field as "ANY".

Currently, we offer two vendors: AMD & Nvidia.

Regarding models, we list our current catalogue. If you are unsure of the trainer's specific needs, please select "ANY" once again.

 

When you are satisfied with the reservation details, click "Place reservation." This will allocate the funds, place the reservation, and mark it as active on the course page, as shown below:

 

If you receive new information regarding the GPUs required for the course and need to make changes to the reservation, please contact DD support for assistance with editing the GPU reservation request.
