SSH Access

Many users request SSH access to DaDesktop machines because it simplifies the process for course participants and trainers to connect to their Desktops from personal laptops or desktops. It's only natural that typing commands on a local terminal is often preferred over using a terminal inside a remote desktop.

Even though it's technically feasible, we don't allow SSH access in this scenario because it would unnecessarily expose the DaDesktop course machines to serious security risks.

We've added a drag-and-drop file transfer capability that lets you easily add files from your own device to the DaDesktop environment. Some earlier requests for full SSH access came from the lack of a file transfer option; with this feature now in place, using DaDesktop is even smoother.

It's also worth noting that full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available on both Windows and Linux OS templates, making it much easier than before to copy and paste commands from your local machine to the DaDesktop environment, even when using a Mac or non-English character sets.

For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers in Spain, SSH access is permitted if required.
